Narrative

Section heading

Add a section panel when a page needs a labelled break between groups of charts without a full hero.

What you can do

  • The panel title is the heading; subtitle adds a line under it.
  • rule (default true) draws a horizontal line beneath the heading; set it to false for a bare label.
  • align is left (default), center, or right.
  • A section is a panel, not a layout construct: place it at full width (w: 24 by convention) in the page grid; it is unrelated to layout.sections[].

Applies to a section panel; hero is the large opener and divider is a rule with no text. No demo template carries a section, so there is no Builder link on this page.

Spec

View spec
{
  "id": "sec-mix",
  "type": "section",
  "title": "Where revenue concentrates",
  "spec": {
    "subtitle": "Mix, volatility, and the accounts that carry it.",
    "rule": true,
    "align": "left"
  }
}

The heading text lives in the panel title; subtitle and rule are the whole spec, and there is no data block.

Build it in dvt

Every block on this page is a few lines of the same declarative JSON spec. Read the full spec format, or connect an AI agent to your warehouse and build one live in the quickstart.
